About GASP

Our Mission

GASP (Guardians Advocating Child Safety and Protection) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safer environment for children through modern and effective programs designed to prevent encounters involving dangerous situations, sex offenders, abuse and abduction.

Our History

GASP was founded in 2006 in response to the increasing number of child abductions, offenses and abuses, and the 2005 abduction and murder of Jessica Lunsford in Florida. Originally named Grandparents Against Sex Predators, our initial goal was to provide trained volunteers to participate on search teams for missing persons. Since then, we have grown to provide a wide array of child safety services led by our specially-trained volunteers who bring these programs to the community at the request of law enforcement, schools, specialty groups and other organizations throughout Summit County and beyond.
